Adult Pottery Classes, 2426 Townsgate Rd. #600, Westlake Village, CA 91361
Westlake Village studio provides Conejo Valley residents with quality instruction in adult and children wheel throwing and hand-building, surface decorating, summer camps and birthday parties. All firings are cone 06 or cone 5.
Our pottery classes are hands-on instruction and meet for one two-hour class per week for 4 or 8 weeks. Materials (clay and tools) and firing are provided for the Beginning Wheel Class only. Intermediate and advance Class students pay additional $1 per pound for glaze firing only. Enrollment is limited to insure individual instruction.
Fun and encouraging atmosphere of our studio makes it a great learning and relaxing experience. Take your mind off your work and chores and make time for yourself creating some holiday or birthday gifts at the same time! Great activity for team spirit building.
We feel that people who have ever taken pottery at other places and thought they didn't get what their instructor was showing them, really like our unique way of teaching basic throwing. Ki Cho (founder)has developed this method when he was first learned pottery. It's our very own way of breaking down the throwing process in ten easy to understand steps. We have a "cheat sheet" for you to follow (or make a copy and study at home :). Once you memorize and practice the steps in each class, it then becomes your second nature and a very successful way of wheel throwing. On average, every student makes a good bowl in their very first class. Having to understand what the throwing process consists of makes for a lot of happy potters!
